Tao Of Backup Wailing Wall Story

Never remove the side panel of your computer

My computer was an old AMD Duron 700 mhz using stock fan cooling only. We were living in a tropical country so the noon room temperatures added with the heat generated by the processor would sometimes cause the computer to shut down because of heat. Also, the computer was positioned near the window...

After frequent shutdowns of the computer i unscrewed the side panel of the case and put a 220 v electric fan near it blowing air directly into the computer. A few days after sister was using the computer and was complaining that dust was accumulating on the windows and it was annoying her, so my mother crept up the table and cleaned the window glasses with a damp cloth. Due to some reason the steel bar that was holding the curtains came crashing down RIGHT INTO THE HEART OF THE COMPUTER AND SLAMMED RIGHT INTO THE HDD. i cannot imagine how a 4 foot steel bar came crashing down right into the HDD, OF ALL THE THINGS THAT COULD BE HIT!. It was a weird angle, even physicists will have a hard time regenerating the events that have occured...

all the mp3s... my college work... my thesis... PC games saved files... the porn (ahehehehe)... the personal files... ebooks... my projects...

ALL OF THEM which took me at least a year to gather were KAPOOT in an instant!

The lesson? Buy a lian-li case instead....
